PHOTOGRAPHER
→We first discovered Robert Antoniac’s photographs through LOOT, a local design studio who has recently launched a streetwear line and instantly fell for the Berlin vibe. Robert, 20, who at times goes by Tim Dugan in the online environment, is studying photo-video in Bucharest and started working as a fashion photographer around two years ago.
I’m intrigued by the wave of youth, my age or even younger, that have very coherent projects ongoing, as well as by the clear-cut socio-political direction of fashion.
I think maybe a trench coat, I don’t know, I feel that it has a bizarre geometry that can give it a sort of very intriguing monumentality.
I don’t really think about future projects or a dream project and if I would have one in mind I probably wouldn’t talk about it.
I don’t know if there’s necessarily any striking advantages, maybe the fact that there’s no tough competition and the particular exotic vibe that the East can have, perhaps that’s why it’s so fetishized in fashion at the moment.
I find the film series directed by Wim Wenders for Jil Sander very coherent.
